JOB SUMMARY:

Assuring customer satisfaction through material quality and availability.  Ownership, responsibility and accountability for the development and performance of supply chain functions, and their results (metrics).  Understanding and internalization of STOBER Purpose, Vision, Mission, Core Values.  Adherence to, communication and promotion of STOBER Social Covenant and Transformational Leadership tools. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Building and leading materials teams: (today) Purchasing, Receiving, Warehouse
    • Employee development, teaching, training, coaching
    • Delegation, empowerment, holding self and others accountable
  • Systems and process development: 
    • Supply Chain Vision, Strategy and Roadmap development, change management
    • Business/Supply Chain Tools, Process improvement, LEAN
  • Optimization of inventory and reordering processes
  • Make/Buy decisions
  • Supplier management, optimizing quality, availability, delivery, service, cost
    • Supplier redundancy where appropriate, Metrics based scorecards
    • Suppliers: External Domestic suppliers, Internal -  Domestic and Germany
    • Logistics: reliability, efficiency, cost
  • Contract and terms negotiations
  • Collaboration with: STOBER USA staff and all departments, STOEBER Germany Ownership and Management, especially Materials and Manufacturing

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS degree plus 5 years commercial/technical experience in engineering, supply chain, or related field

 

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Systems understanding

  • ERP (SAP or other), MRP, Microsoft Office
  • Understanding/improving overall STOBER business needs

Mechanical/Electrical

  • Technically inclined, willingness to work “hands on”
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, sketches

Other

  • Problem solving, analytical skills
  • Ability to deliver and accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to lead people
  • Negotiation skills
  • Comfortably communicate with all organizational level
  • Self-development: Networking, Benchmarking, Peer learning
  • Some travel including international

 

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to use a computer 90% of the day, sit, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
